I took this with me on a week long camping trip recently as one of a few different fire starting methods to experiment with. First time I used it was fantastic! The chunk of rope I used lit immediately from striking my ferro rod, and got my kindling going hot fast. However, I could not replicate it the rest of the week. Not sure if I did something different or if was dumb luck that it worked so easy the first time.
